me

I am an enthusiastic and professional Website Designer, I enjoy being part team and is quick to grasp new ideas and concepts. I am able to work well on my own initiative and can demonstrate the high levels of motivation required to meet the tightest of deadlines. Even under significant pressure I feel I possess a strong ability to perform effectively. I am always Keen to achieve further professional development. My strengths lie in XHTML/CSS hand coding, web usability, accessibility and promoting good working practices in front–end web development.

My role is to build and update the companies many websites, as well as building of new features or fixing exisiting ones for any of the 12 websites using HTML, CSS and Photoshop.

Web Coordinator
UNITE Group Plc - Bristol MAY 2009 - FEB 2011

My role is to manage and update the content of the student website for UNITE, the largest student accommodation provider in the UK, using Interwoven Teamsite Content Management system (CMS), as well as designing and building HTML emails to go out to our students through external sites such as UCAS. In addition to HTML emails my role also entails designing and building animated and static Flash banners for promotions on the student website as well as external student accommodation websites that UNITE properties are listed on. As well as designing and building websites for promotional campaigns and competitions. Some examples of these sites are below:

Binary Studios - Bradford-on-avon DEC 2008 - JAN 2009

This job was taken on as a temporary role and involved design and building HTML newsletters to send out to Clients, As well as  designing, building and maintaining the intranet site for Lloyds TSB, which gave information to the employees of Lloyds TSB information about the take-over by HBOS. For uploading and maintaining this website we used Interwoven Teamsite Content Management system (CMS).

E-Store IT Specialist
Milestone LTD - Marlborough OCT 2006 - Nov 2008

The job involved: Updating, editing and maintaining the companies UK, Holland, Ireland and Swedish Website using Venda (CMS) and Total Blue (CMS), as well as creating graphics for the websites and user manuals for products, designing and creating html marketing emails, creating affiliate and advertising banners, designing and building microsites and packaging designs. I also redesigned the whole customer facing website. This job was very fast paced and I have had valuable experience in a hard commercial environment where there are four different sites to manage and maintain in different languages as well as working closely with external clients.

Sales advisor, Comet Group Plc, Cardiff, south wales — 2005-2006

The main role for this job is dealing with customers, stock checking and processing payments. The main job was to look after the customers needs, direct them and advise them on a product that they needed and make sure they at the end of the day the customer goes away happy with the product they bought.

Head of E-Commerce Applications, Cottingham Consultancy, Cardiff — 2005

This job entailed, building websites using xhtml, css, along with website management. This only lasted for 6 months due to the company not having enough funds at the present time.
